Barbie army

I guees this is not characteristic of Buenos Aires, Barbies are everywhere. But thinking about consumer goods and habits, porteños (people from the city of Buenos Aires) are obsessed with shopping. And Barbie is the ultimate icon: the need of reproducing ideals (women here want to be perfectly tanned and blonde). I´m not special: I´m tanned too. ;)
I took this picture at an huge supermarket called Jumbo and got reprehended for it by one employee.

This is what I call a danger pic. Taken were one is not supposed to take pictures!
This kind of makes it more exciting or valuable! I'll admit that sometimes I'll jump a fence
or sneak in to get that picture! Anyway nice Barbies!

Great Pic!
I was reading that there are plastic surgeons in BA that specialize in the Barbie look? Have you ever seen an ad?

No I´ve never seen one, but Buenos aires is the Mecca of plastic surgeons... and they are really cheap that´s why many people come here to get something done. thinking of it it´s pretty creepy: most of the women on tv look like malibu barbie. If I ever find an add i´llpost it gladly :)

I would see this woman at a Tango Club all the time, attractive, soooo Barbie. She would have her hand to her nose constantly as if she were trying to prevent it from falling off her face.
Cynthia, you mentioned on my site about trying Tango for the first time this weekend. Yay!
If you are interested email me and I can give you a recommendation that I haven't posted yet. He is without ego, young, and right now very very very reasonably priced, for practically private lessons!
Have fun this weekend and wear non- gripping shoes! And I look forward to all your photos!

Pink is my absolute favourite colour. I recently got in trouble for photographing in a store too - a close-up of my baby already, yikes, the epitome of industrial espionage - and wrote in to complain. "There are signs on all the entrance doors" they said. Not true, but when I did find one it was next to a "no ice-creams" icon, so I went back inside and photographed the ice-cream parlour! Damn them all! Yo!
